Step 1: Surface Preparation

New Masonry Surfaces:

Allow the surface to fully cure for at least 1 month. Ensure that the moisture content is below 14% before painting.

Old Masonry Surfaces:

Remove all deteriorated or loose materials. Areas affected by mold, mildew, or algae should be cleaned using Beger MouldFree M-001.

Recommendation:

Before every painting job, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, and contaminants such as oil or grease. If necessary, use a stiff brush or high-pressure water to eliminate stubborn residues.To smooth out cracks, holes, or surface imperfections before painting, apply Beger Acrylic Filler No. 200.

Step 2: Primer Application

Applying a primer helps ensure stronger adhesion between the surface and topcoat, while preventing any adverse chemical reactions between the substrate and the finishing paint.

New Masonry Surfaces:

Apply 1 coat of BegerCool All Plus Primer #6000 (Heat-Reflective Primer for New Concrete). Let it dry for at least 2–4 hours before applying the topcoat. Alternatively, use B-2800 Multi-Purpose Primer – a flexible 3-in-1 water-based primer with white, heat-reflective film. Apply 1 coat and let it dry for at least 2–4 hours before proceeding with the topcoat.

Old Masonry Surfaces:

Apply 1 coat of Beger ProQuick Primer B-1900, a moisture-resistant multi-purpose primer. Let it dry for at least 4–6 hours before proceeding. For maximum heat-reflective performance, it is recommended to follow with 1–2 coats of BegerCool Flex No. 9000, an elastomeric alkali-resistant primer with high heat-reflective properties. Allow to dry for at least 3 hours before applying the topcoat.

Step 3: Topcoat Application

Apply 2 coats of BegerCool All Plus, a 100% pure acrylic water-based paint. Allow the first coat to dry completely for 2–3 hours before applying the second coat.
