Step 1 : Surface Preparation
Clean the surface thoroughly. Ensure it is free from dirt, dust, loose mortar, paint, and oil stains. AAC blocks do not require pre-wetting and can be installed using the dry masonry method.
Mixing
- Krating 2-in-1 (Purple) 40 kg (1 bag) : 10–10.4 liters of water, or a mixing ratio of 3 parts mortar to 1 part water by volume.
- Mix Krating 2-in-1 (Purple) with water using a low-speed electric drill mixer for at least 3 minutes until the mixture becomes smooth and lump-free.
- Let the mixture rest for 5–10 minutes to allow the chemical components to activate, then stir again before use.
Application (Masonry Work)
- Position the AAC blocks along the masonry line. Use a masonry trowel to scoop and spread the mortar evenly over the top surface and ends of the blocks.
- Check the consistency of the mortar to ensure proper application.
Consistency Adjustment
- If the mortar is too thin and the notched lines collapse, add more mortar powder.
- If the mortar is too thick and the notched lines break, add a small amount of water.
Tile Adhesive Application
Surface Preparation
- The surface must be clean, dry, smooth, and level.
- The substrate must be strong, even, and free from loose materials (such as plastered or leveled surfaces).
- In wet areas such as bathrooms or kitchens, a waterproofing system should be applied before tiling to prevent water leakage.
Mixing
- Krating 2-in-1 (Purple) 40 kg (1 bag) : 10–10.4 liters of water, or a ratio of 3 parts mortar to 1 part water by volume.
- Mix with a low-speed electric drill mixer for at least 3 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
- Allow the mixture to rest for 5–10 minutes for chemical activation, then stir again before use.
Installation
Applying the Adhesive
- Use a notched trowel suitable for the tile size (according to standard practice) and spread the adhesive evenly across the substrate in straight lines.
Tile Installation
- Place the tile onto the adhesive immediately after spreading.
- Press firmly and tap lightly with a rubber mallet to ensure full adhesive contact and proper bonding.
- Leave a minimum grout joint of 2 mm.
- Tiles can be adjusted and aligned within 10–15 minutes after installation.
- Allow the installation to set for 24 hours before grouting.
